Exam Overview
The CAPF AC selection process is a multi-stage one, consisting of a written exam, a physical efficiency test (PET), a medical examination, and an interview.
- Written Exam: This pen-and-paper based exam tests candidates’ knowledge on General Studies, Paper-II (Essay, Comprehension, Precis Writing), and a subject chosen by the candidate from a list of optional subjects.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): This test assesses candidates’ physical fitness through activities like running, long jump, high jump, push-ups, and sit-ups.
- Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify in the written exam and PET undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the required physical standards for CAPF service.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview to assess their personality, leadership qualities, and suitability for the role of an Assistant Commandant.

UPSC CAPF AC Qualifying Marks
UPSC does not publish a predetermined minimum qualifying mark for the written exam. The cut-off marks vary each year depending on the difficulty level of the exam and the number of vacancies. Generally, candidates scoring above the 30th percentile in each paper of the written exam have a better chance of qualifying.

Important Notes
